$23.5 Million settlement of a class action against HSBC Card Services relating to the bank’s credit cards. alleging that the bank imposed payment protection without consent , deceptively marketed the service, and improperly administered the plan harming consumers (Bryan H. Mintz, with co-counsel, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, 2013).
$21 million verdict, Child Services Negligence-inflicted damages upon a child in foster care. Infant child was improperly placed in foster care and was abused suffering “shaken baby syndrome” resulting in brain damage and multiple bone fractures. State was held liable for breaching its own procedures and regulations in child placement and required oversight. Foster parents were held jointly liable for the inflicted physical damage. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, co-counsel, Burlington County N.J.)(2006).
$20 Million settlement of a class action against Bank of America relating to the bank’s credit cards. alleging that the bank imposed payment protection without consent , deceptively marketed the service, and improperly administered the plan harming consumers (Bryan H. Mintz, with co-counsel, Northern District of California, 2013).
$15 million settlement in a medical malpractice suit on behalf of an 11-year-old girl from Irvington, New Jersey. The suit alleged that the hospital and girl's cardiologist deviated from the accepted standards of care by not following up about an appointment for a corrective surgery in early 2005, which could have treated her congenital abnormality and prevented a stroke that caused brain-damage. An Essex County, New Jersey Superior Court Judge approved the settlement on December 18, 2015. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Essex County, New Jersey 2015).    
$10 Million settlement of a class action against Discover Financial Services relating to the bank’s credit cards. alleging that the bank imposed payment protection without consent , deceptively marketed the service, and improperly administered the plan harming consumers (Bryan H. Mintz, with co-counsel, Northern District of Illinois, 2013).
$6 Million settlement of a class action against Discover Financial Services related to its merchant membership program and the allegation that the bank was charging merchants for the program without authorization (Bryan H. Mintz, with co-counsel, Southern District of Florida), 2011).
$4.2 Million settlement of a class action against American Traffic Systems, Inc. and 18 New Jersey municipalities alleging a failure to comply with New Jersey laws governing red light cameras. (Bryan H. Mintz, with co-counsel, District of New Jersey, 2013).
$4.1 million settlement involving a construction accident with a related defective product case. (with co-counsel, Essex County, New Jersey).
$3.2 Million settlement in a medical malpractice case brought on behalf of a 14-year-old girl from Hillside, New Jersey. When she was just 16-months-old, our client was misdiagnosed by a New Jersey hospital emergency room. As a result of the misdiagnosis, there was a delay in treatment at a point when timing was absolutely critical. Consequently, the young girl had to undergo multiple surgeries and placement of a feeding tube for many of the years that followed. She now has chronic kidney disease. The settlement monies will fund a short term trust and an annuity to ensure that all of this child’s needs are met during her lifetime (Bryan H. Mintz, Essex County, 2015). 
$3 million pre-trial mediated settlement, Medical Malpractice against a major New York medical center, negligent performance of a diagnostic medical procedure that caused a stroke and partial paralysis in a 50 year old woman. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, New York County-Manhattan, NY) (2013).
$2.45 million pre-trial mediated settlement, sexual abuse of high school student by a teacher, disease transmission & emotional injury. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Essex County 2010).
$2.1 million settlement for injuries involving serious personal injuries caused by an automobile accident.   The recovery included $191,000 in workers’ compensation benefits and $1,986,475 for negligence.  (Union County 2010).
$1.7 million settlement, Medical Malpractice in failing to timely diagnose, refer and treat a patient with cardiac symptoms resulting in a heart attack and severe heart muscle damage. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Bergen County, New Jersey 2004).
$1.5 Million settlement of a class action against a major New Jersey food distributor alleging violation of New Jersey’ Wage and Hour laws and the failure to pay overtime to truck drivers and helpers.  (Bryan H. Mintz, with co-counsel, Middlesex County, New Jersey 2016)
$1,475,000 settlement arising out of a motor vehicle accident. (Bergen County, 2015).
$1,136,500 settlement for an individual who fell from scaffolding while at work suffering a work-related injury.  The settlement included a recovery of $1,000,000 for negligence and $136,500 for workers compensation benefits. (Essex County, New Jersey 2015).
$1 million settlement, Medical Malpractice in a neurosurgical operation that caused paralysis. (Insurance policy limits)(Jeffrey E. Strauss, Essex County 2010).
$850,000 settlement, Auto Accident, Injuries included Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that caused early retirement as a Librarian. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Essex County 2005).
$825,000 settlement, Construction Site-Defective Tree Truck, outrigger was improperly placed and had insufficient line of sight and warnings to alert workers in the area, crushed forefoot. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Warren County 2009).
$775,000 settlement arising out of trench collapse during sewer construction. (Burlington County, New Jersey 2006).
$725,000 settlement, Truck-Pedestrian accident, Pedestrian crossing street was hit by a construction truck resulting in loss of smell and orthopedic injuries. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Union County 2011).
$650,000 settlement, Medical Malpractice, failing to timely diagnose and refer for treatment a middle age high risk male patient for treatment of cardiac symptoms substantially contributing to the necessity of a heart transplant. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Morris County 2005).
$625,000 settlement involving a machine products defect at a Middlesex County factory. (Middlesex County, New Jersey 2006).
$550,000 settlement of wrongful death and survivorship case brought by widow of a man fatally injured by a falling tree limb (Morris County, New Jersey 2009).
$531,000 settlement of an automobile accident case, of which $430,000 was for negligence and $101,000 was for workers’ compensation  benefits.  The case involved mild traumatic brain injuries suffered by the plaintiff (Monmouth County, New Jersey 2015)
$500,000 settlement in a premises liability matter. (Essex County, New Jersey 2012).
$500,000 settlement during trial, Product Liability-Consumer Product Defect, commonly used type of sponge mop recoiled with such force that the retracting slide caught the users’ wedding band causing it to slice into the ring finger joint amputating the finger. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Middlesex County 2009).
$497,000 settlement of products liability case (Essex County, New Jersey 2014).
$476,000 settlement for an Elizabeth, New Jersey worker in a slip and fall case. While she was working as a janitor at an office building in Millburn, New Jersey, the woman fell on recently painted steps causing significant injuries resulting in multiple surgeries. These work injuries included a torn rotator cuff, fractured clavicle, fractured rib. and fractured ankle. $390,000 of the settlement was for negligence of the landlord and $85,830 was for workers’ compensation benefits. (Essex County, New Jersey 2017).
$460,000 settlement for bite and scar injuries to hand and wrist, 16 year old female plaintiff was visiting a county operated zoo when a prairie dog known to have bitten two other visitors in the preceding two weeks leaped and bit her wrist causing permanent scarring and loss of function. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Essex County 2008).
$450,000 settlement in premises liability case. (Middlesex County, New Jersey 2013).
$450,000 settlement arising out of truck accident. (Essex County, New Jersey 2005).
$430,000 settlement arising out of automobile accident. (Bergen County, New Jersey 2001).
$430,000 settlement in premises liability case (Middlesex County, New Jersey 2014).
$405,000 settlement of a premises liability action in which the Plaintiff's foot became snagged in a gap in the floor of a busy office building.  The Defendant created a gap in the floor through construction and failed to repair the gap in a timely manner.  The Plaintiff suffered injuries to her upper extremities triggering a complex regional pain syndrome that forced her into extensive medical care and disability from work for over two years. Her injury is permanent yet under control. The recovery included compensation for pain, suffering and disability as well as reimbursement for medical bills owed.  (Middlesex County, 2016).
$400,000 Settlement of a wrongful death accident case. Plaintiff was an elderly man on the way to his doctor appointment when he encountered a ramp at the building entranceway to the doctor's office. The ramp was too steep and did not contain railings to steady his progress. Plaintiff then lost his balance, backpedaled and fell hitting his head on the ground causing a skull fracture that triggered a deteriorating condition culminating in his death three months later. This wrongful death accident case ensued resulting in the recovery of wrongful death damages. (Union County, 2016).
$400,000 settlement for Burn injuries, plaintiff was a truck driver unloading chemicals and was caused to be covered with the chemicals due to poor unloading procedures by the chemical plant. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Passaic County 2004).
$400,000 settlement of pedestrian struck by automobile case (Passaic County, New Jersey 2009).
$365,000 settlement of a construction accident matter. (Middlesex County, New Jersey 2008).
$350,000 verdict, Medical Malpractice, surgeon damaged a nerve that should have been protected during an operation resulting in diminished movement of the plaintiff’s arm. (Jeffrey E. Strauss, Union County, NJ 2002).
$262,500 settlement of slip and fall case from a forklift platform (Essex County, New Jersey 2012).
$260,000 settlement for an Elizabeth, New Jersey worker injured during a truck accident. The worker suffered neck and back injuries when the oil delivery truck he was driving was stuck by a tractor trailer. The neck injuries resulted in a cervical discectomy and decompression and fusion surgery at the C5-6 level.  (Union County, New Jersey 2017).  
$250,000 judgment against a hotel/nightclub in a slip and fall case (Union County, New Jersey 2015).
$225,000 mediated settlement of premises liability case (Hudson County, New Jersey 2009).
$205,000 settlement of premises liability case (Bergen County, New Jersey 2013).
$200,000 settlement of premises liability case (Bergen County, New Jersey 2013).
$120,000 settlement for an Irvington, New Jersey woman passenger in a vehicle that was struck from behind. The rear end collision caused shoulder and knee injuries resulting in both arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgeries. She suffered from aggravation of pre-existing back injuries as well in the accident. (Essex County, New Jersey 2017)
$100,000 settlement for an Elizabeth, NJ woman who suffered neck and shoulder injuries when involved in a rear-end car accident. The neck injuries resulted in a cervical discectomy and fusion surgery at the C5-6 level.  The woman also underwent right shoulder arthroscopy for the shoulder injuries caused by the car accident.  The case settled for all available insurance, which comprised of $15,000 from the defendant driver and $85,000 from the client’s own underinsured motorist (UIM) protection insurance coverage. (Union County, New Jersey 2017).
$100,000 settlement of bus accident case (Essex County, New Jersey 2013).
A New Jersey woman, while jogging, suffered a laceration to the bridge of her nose as well as a deviated septum when she tripped over raised and uneven pavers in front of a Livingston, New Jersey supermarket.  She fortunately made an excellent recovery with minimal scarring and the uneven pavers were fixed within approximately one week of the accident. (Essex County, 2017)
